About Stephen
With experience managing teams of more than 70 people spread across almost all business units of a major multi-national organisation; to years as a sole trader at the helm of his own entrepreneurial enterprises, Stephen Pearson has carved out a reputation as a successful and innovative senior-level leader for companies both large and small.
An accountant by profession, over the past 30 years Stephen has used his wide exposure to various industries and roles to become a specialist in the complicated areas of Mergers and Acquisitions, Anti-Dumping Defences, Commercial Management, and Project Management.
At his happiest when juggling many balls in the air, Stephen’s ultimate passion is in Project Management, especially when it comes to the complex projects such as acquisitions which demand a focused approach and need someone with his skill set and experience to manage both the project and the team to gain the best results from start to finish.
With numerous acquisitions and divestitures under his belt, Stephen is able to offer valuable insight from conducting market and commercial analyses externally, to working internally to gain the tactical and financial approval and ensure the responsibility of the all-important integration planning process. It is this commitment to ‘getting things done’ that has seen Stephen also develop a strong informal skill set, such as when it comes to the practice of law and navigating the often complex legal elements of such projects.
At CMC Australia, where Stephen spent most of the last 14 years, he was responsible at one stage for all of the departments of the business other than direct sales. From HR to IT and Finance to Marketing, Logistics and Manufacturing; it all reported to his role where he built a solid portfolio of knowledge in these areas, not to mention an extensive network of contacts. Stephen’s real strength was in mentoring staff to help them achieve their best, and therefore the best possible outcomes for the company.
Having started Pearsons World in 2013, Stephen has undertaken a number of projects, including returning to his specialist discipline of anti-dumping defences.
